Measurement and advice in your home

Find out whether your ventilation is adding avoidable heating costs

A technician measures your home for a short period to see how ventilation, air quality and energy use relate. You receive a clear report with findings and advice, plus an honest view of what the measurements can and cannot say.

  • Per-room measurement
  • Gas and electricity use analysis
  • A report with advice, not guarantees

Does this sound familiar?

Many homes have a mechanical ventilation system whose settings no longer match how the home is actually lived in.

  • Your heating bills are higher than you expect.
  • A room feels stuffy, or draughty instead.
  • You do not know how your ventilation system is set.
  • The ventilation seems to run constantly without a clear effect.
  • You are unsure whether the home is ventilated too little, or too much.

The answer differs from home to home. That is why we measure first instead of guessing, and why we look at avoidable heat loss rather than treating ventilation as something bad.

How it works

From the first measurement to the report, in four steps.

  1. Measurement period

The technician places sensors in the home and measures for a short period. We agree the duration with you in advance.

  2. Per-room logging

For each room we log relative humidity, CO₂, PM2.5 and temperature over the measurement period.

  3. Energy and temperature analysis

We compare gas and electricity use with the measured temperatures and ventilation patterns to judge whether ventilation looks adequate or excessive.

  4. Report and advice

You receive a report with findings, advice and possible next steps, including what remains uncertain.

What we measure

We use indicative sensors, not laboratory equipment. Below is what each measurement can and cannot show.

Relative humidity

Shows how humid each room is and how that changes over time. Not a mould or health assessment.

CO₂

An indication of how well a room is ventilated while in use. Not a complete air-quality test.

PM2.5

An indication of fine particulates indoors. Says nothing about the source and is not a health measurement.

Temperature

Shows how temperature varies per room, useful for comparing heating and ventilation patterns.

Gas and electricity use

Consumption patterns over the measurement period. Without complete meter data this remains a limited picture.

Heating versus temperature

We check whether heating energy and temperature together suggest adequate or excessive ventilation. That is an indication, not proof.

All measurements are indicative and apply to this home in this period. They are not certified and are not intended as an inspection.

What you receive

A concise report in plain language, with a short explanation.

  • The findings from the measurement period, per room.
  • Advice: whether there may be avoidable heat loss, or whether ventilation is in fact insufficient for air quality.
  • If ventilation falls short: sensible and safe next steps.
  • A clear distinction between what was measured, what was estimated and what stayed unknown.
  • A short note on the assumptions behind each estimate.

What this is not

To avoid misunderstandings, this belongs here too:

  • No guaranteed savings. Every figure is an estimate or scenario with assumptions.
  • Not a medical, health, mould or formal compliance assessment.
  • Not a laboratory measurement and not a certified inspection.
  • No advice to ventilate less than the home needs. Adequate ventilation always comes first.
  • No obligation to install, repair or buy anything.
  • No replacement for an official inspection or a check against regulations.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the measurement take?

The measurement period is short and we agree it with you in advance. The exact duration depends on your home and system.

What do you need from me as a resident?

Access to the home and its rooms, and where possible information about your ventilation system and energy bill. Beyond that you do not need to do anything.

I rent my home. Can I still use this?

The measurement itself does not change your home. Changing a ventilation system may require your landlord's permission. The report explains what you can do with the results.

Are savings guaranteed?

No. Whether and how much you can save depends on your home, system, weather, occupancy and heating habits. We give an estimate or scenario with assumptions, not a guarantee.

Will you reduce my ventilation?

No. Adequate ventilation always comes first. We never advise going below the level your home needs.

Is this an inspection or a health check?

No. The measurements are indicative and are not a medical, mould or compliance assessment.

Can the sensors identify a specific source?

No. Sensors show patterns and indications, not exact sources or substances.

What happens to my data?
